Advanced Micro Devices strategic AI partnership: OpenAI multi-year Instinct GPU deployment commitment
On October 6, 2025 (Q4 '25), AMD and OpenAI announced a definitive agreement for OpenAI to deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs across multiple generations, starting with an initial 1 GW deployment of Instinct MI450 GPUs in 2H 2026. In Q1 '26 (Feb 24, 2026), Meta Platforms also signed a multi-year agreement for an initial 1 GW custom Instinct MI450 deployment in Helios racks (up to 6 GW total), and in Q2 '26 (Aug 4, 2026) Anthropic signed an agreement for up to 2 GW of MI450 GPUs.
