About StockData

StockData (stockdatahq.com) is an independent website that publishes financial data on US-listed companies. It serves readers researching US equities who want standardized financial statements, ownership records, screening tools, and direct links to source filings. Every financial figure on the site is processed by StockData's own software and linked to the filing it came from.

What StockData offers and who it is for

StockData covers about 8,000 companies listed on the NYSE, Nasdaq, and OTC markets for readers analyzing US public companies. For each company, the site publishes financial statements covering the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, along with key metrics, valuation multiples, a fair value estimate, and the StockData Score based on 30 checks. Coverage also includes company operating KPIs, dividends, an interactive price chart, and a research library of earnings releases and presentations.

Beyond company fundamentals, StockData tracks ownership and portfolio disclosures across US markets. Readers can review shareholder records covering 13F institutions, mutual funds and ETFs, and company insiders, as well as Form 4 insider trades. The site also publishes superinvestor portfolios from 13F filings, ETF holdings from SEC N-PORT reports, and 30 rule-based investment idea screens backtested with point-in-time data.

Data sources and processing

Company filings and disclosures come from SEC EDGAR. These sources include XBRL financial data in Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, and 40-F, earnings releases in Form 8-K, insider filings on Forms 3, 4, 5, and 144, institutional holdings on Form 13F, ownership reports on Schedules 13D and 13G, and fund holdings on Form N-PORT. Daily closing prices come from public market data sources, while macroeconomic and market series come from FRED and Cboe.

Financial figures are normalized by StockData's own software to provide consistent statements and metrics. Fourth quarters are derived from annual reports, and per-share data is adjusted for stock splits. Every number links directly to the SEC filing it came from so readers can verify the underlying source.

Quality checks and error reporting

StockData checks extracted figures against source filings to maintain data accuracy. Some company descriptions and KPI extractions are produced with the help of AI models and then checked against the filings. Because financial and market data can still contain errors or be delayed, readers are encouraged to verify critical figures against the linked SEC filings. Data corrections and error reports are welcome by email at [email protected].

What StockData is not

StockData does not provide investment advice and is not a broker or a registered investment adviser. All financial data, fair value estimates, StockData Scores, and backtested screens are provided for informational and research purposes only. In addition, stock prices on the site are end-of-day closing figures, not real-time quotes.

Accounts, privacy, and infrastructure

StockData offers optional free accounts with an email address and password, where passwords are stored hashed. Accounts include email verification and optional two-factor authentication using TOTP, and transactional emails for verification and password resets are sent through Cloudflare Email Service or Resend. Users can delete their account themselves from the account page, which deletes their account data.

StockData does not sell user data, and there is no third-party analytics and no advertising tracking at present. Account sessions use a first-party cookie with the prefix sd, and the browser's local storage saves the light or dark theme choice. The site is served through Cloudflare for CDN and security and is hosted on a server in the European Union, where server logs may record IP addresses and user agents for security.
