Methodology and excluded metrics
- Datadog's latest reported SEC quarter is Q2 2026 (ended June 30, 2026). The Q3 2026 and 2026 columns display management's forward guidance from the Q2 2026 earnings release, as well as Q3 2026 U.S. federal contract obligations from USAspending.gov (which run monthly through Sep 2026, 3 months ahead of SEC filings).
- Core operating KPIs are organized into three top-level groups: (1) Customer Cohorts & ARR Scale (Total customers, ≥$100k ARR customers & share of ARR, ≥$1M ARR customers, AI-native customers ≥$1M ARR, and existing vs. new customer share of YoY revenue growth); (2) Multi-Product Platform Adoption (% of customers using ≥2, ≥4, ≥6, ≥8, and ≥10 products across Datadog's 26+ integrated products); and (3) Contract Backlog & Billings (ASC 606 RPO, RPO YoY growth, quarterly Billings & YoY growth, deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and capitalized sales commissions).
- Extended operational layers cover: (4) Management quarterly & full-year financial guidance ranges (8-K Item 2.02); (5) Non-GAAP profitability, departmental OpEx, equity payroll taxes, acquired intangible amortization & Free Cash Flow bridge; (6) Cloud hosting payables & multi-year non-cancelable purchase commitments ($1,622.3M at FY2025), internal-use software capitalization, PP&E by asset class/geography, and ASC 842 operating lease obligations; (7) Global workforce headcount by geography, departmental SBC, unvested RSU/PSU overhang, DEF 14A Pay vs. Performance, EEO-1 demographics, and Scope 1/2/3 GHG emissions & CA AB 1305 carbon removals; (8) Audited statutory accounts of Datadog Ireland Limited (UK Companies House FC035115, FY2018–FY2024); and (9) U.S. federal government contract obligations from USAspending.gov.
- U.S. GAAP 10-K filings do not include standalone parent-only financial statements, so no consolidated − standalone subtraction is performed. All numbers are as published by Datadog or the official external / statutory source; the only arithmetic is splitting reported full-year / YTD figures into Q4 / quarterly flows (Q4 = full year − nine months, and quarterly cash flows = year-to-date − prior year-to-date, marked with formula notes).
