Methodology and excluded metrics
- Disney's fiscal year ends on the Saturday closest to September 30; the latest reported quarter is Q3 FY26 (ended June 27, 2026, filed August 5, 2026) and the latest completed fiscal year is FY2025 (ended September 27, 2025).
- In Q1 FY26, Disney transitioned from reporting quarterly standalone paid subscriber counts and ARPU for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ to disclosing Entertainment SVOD standalone P&L (revenue, programming costs, operating income, and operating margin). Following the October 29, 2025 Hulu + Live TV / Fubo business combination, 70%-owned subsidiary FuboTV Inc. reports combined North America vMVPD subscribers (5.92M in Q3 FY26). Historical Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and de-duplicated Unique Paid Subscriber bundle series are preserved as legacy rows through Q4 FY25.
- Experiences operational metrics (attendance YoY %, per capita guest spending YoY %, available hotel room nights, occupancy %, and per room spending YoY %) are extracted from 10-Q/10-K MD&A; Global Experiences Guests YoY % (combining domestic/international parks attendance and Disney Cruise Line passenger cruise days) is extracted from 8-K earnings releases.
- Subsidiary and joint venture operational disclosures are sourced directly from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL, 48%-owned consolidated subsidiary) annual business review releases, UK Companies House statutory group accounts for Magical Cruise Company, Limited (dba Disney Cruise Line, Company No. 03157553) and The Walt Disney Company Limited (Company No. 00530051), FuboTV Inc. SEC filings (CIK 0001484769), and Note 6 (Asia Theme Parks combined balance sheet and royalties).
- All figures are as published by Disney, its consolidated subsidiaries, or external industry sources (Box Office Mojo and BLS/FRED via lib/media.py). No ratios, sums, or estimates are added. The only arithmetic is splitting cumulative reported flow figures into standalone quarters: Q4 = full year (10-K) − nine months (10-Q) and Q2/Q3 = year-to-date − previous year-to-date (shown in italics with the formula).
- U.S. GAAP filings do not include parent-only financial statements (Schedule I is omitted in Item 15 of Form 10-K), so no consolidated − standalone subtraction is performed.
